Be the change you want to see in the world!
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”
–Mahatma Gandhi
Be the change you want to see in the world. If only we could truly understand the meaning of this quote.
There are times in all of our lives when we have battled with disappointments. We tried and tried to better ourselves only to be beaten down by the people closes to us. They didn’t seem to appreciate your efforts. After a while we gave up. What’s the use in trying when no one appreciates the sacrifice we are making to improve our lives!
There is a way around the feeling of defeat. That is to understand that we have the power to change the world around us by our examples.
We can teach those around us how to enjoy life by becoming what we want to see in the world.
If you want peace, live in peace. If you want happiness, be happy. People will follow suit. They can’t help themselves from joining in on your party.
Remember when you were a kid and you started hanging around the “wrong kids”? What happened? You started acting like them. Then, of course, you got grounded and were told never to hang out with those kids again, right! It wasn’t that you were a “bad kid” you were acting like your environment. You see, we tend to mimic those around us. Like when you spouse, or boss, or whoever you deal closely with on a daily bases is in a bad mood, they storm through with a very negative attitude and the next thing you know you are in a bad mood.
If the negative moods can influence so can the positive moods. If you want to live in a more positive atmosphere you need to set the mood. And others will follow your lead!
Be the change you want to see in the world!
Thank you Mahatma Gandhi. What a wonderful suggestion.
Make the choice to change your world.
Be well.
